I realize that I should just learn to program ANY language instead of tying myself down to one.
Just Do It! Next I will get specific about what language….

Signed up for Programming II for fall semester. So far the first part of the class is going well, I’m at a 100%, learning a lot. I’m also thinking about breaking this goal down into smaller parts – learn Java, learn C++, etc.

The class is going great, I’m learning a lot of new things that I can see immediate applications for in the “real world.” I just finished covering “if…else” statements, and it’s exciting, because there’s nothing but logic behind it. You don’t get that with soft sciences.

I’m well on my way to a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences…but I’m taking a little detour and taking a few programming classes, starting with the Beginning Programming this semester. Really looking forward to one class without a research paper due :P And I’m very interested in branching out.
Connect UU! And Jeff will teach me, while at the same time I take a Smith intro to programming course next semester.
So I haven’t done anything productive with the information Jeff gave me yet. I can blame it on the end of the school year, applying for grad school, yadda yadda. But I did sign up for an intro programming course for next semester. That will make me start focusing on it, and then Galactic Bloodshed here I come.
Jeff’s giving me the opportunity to learn from him, and I should snatch it. Apparently the starting point is Python and the project is an open source multiplayer videogame with a fabulous title. Now that I have the information, I need to spend a few hours familiarizing myself with it all before I can move forward.
i don’t see this being a feasible option with most of my time being devoted to working in my field of study. maybe when i’m older.
