My books need a home! 18 months ago

I’ve read up on how to do it. Now all I need are the materials and tools to make myself one. I don’t have any power tools though. Am planning on having the wood cut at the store, I do how I can assemble the thing even without powert tools.

Too many books! 19 months ago

They are everywhere and they need their own space. I want to build them something. I should be able to figure this out, I think.

I want to have a really unique and creative bookshelf that’s functional too, and I wanna make it myself!

One step down 22 months ago

I’ve built one already, about a year ago. Now it’s too small for all my books, so I’m going go give it to my buddy and build a new one.

I set the measurements so that I could get almost all I need from one 4’ x 8’ sheet of birch (about $30). I’ve already made the first cuts. Next I need to puddy up some of the rough spots in the wood. Then Paint. Then drill. Then put it all together.

Planning to be done in the next week or so. We’ll see how it goes…

I want to build a bookshelf to hold all my college books.

After a six month hiatus, she's done 2 years ago

A few weeks ago, I put the finishing touches on my 4’ x 4’ pine bookshelf: four shelves of varying heights with mid-shelf vertical supports, stained with a mahogany gloss polyurethane combination. Absolutely gorgeous, and perfectly meets my needs.

Finished mine! 2 years ago

I built 2 67×74” bookshelves yesterday to flank the 6×7 entryway into my bedroom. I used 2×8 white pine lumber because I wanted them to be sturdy and not sag. I’m thinking that I’m going to leave them unpainted because I quite like the natural wood look. It was totally worth it.

I finished it 3 years ago

I got 4 shelves for approx. 32$ stained them and then I attached them to the legs that I allready made. It didn’t work out as well as i wanted the wood was warped as is all wood it would seem and some of my connections look like crap. Otherwise its good and it looks good.
