BrittaP03 It is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

My dad did it. 13 months ago

I am just scared I flunk the test, even though my dad says its not difficult at all. He says that since I have a college degree I shouldn’t be worrying about not passing at all. So, I am determined to have this accomplished by this time next year!

I am German. 14 months ago

I was born there 30 years ago, and Germany is a pretty cool country. Fits into the state of Montana, and is yet the most highly developed industrial nation in Europe. Germany is the country of Mercedes Benz, Dirk Novitzki, Heidi Klum, BMW, and gummi bears. Land of tradition, rules, and red tape. Land of stuffy Germans, and no air to breathe. At least not for a sensitive soul and a creative spirit. The first time I came to the US I learned that this was a country in which everyone is entitled to their own good fortune, as long as it’s within the limits of the law and nobody gets hurt. Everybody is ok. It’s all cool. The German way would be finding your happiness between the lines of the rules that were made, and nothing goes unless a majority of people said it was alright. I don’t want anybody to quote me on this now, but this is how it felt to a vulnerable teenager. I like living in this country for it really is the land of the free and the home of the brave. When they play the national anthem and it gets to this part I get goosebumps, and I know that this is me. I feel at home.

long overdue 15 months ago

I’ve been living in the U.S. for 25 years and I finally just became a citizen last month. Now that’s procrastination for you! I’ve never felt more proud to be a part of this great country. I’m looking forward to voting and believe it or not, jury duty.

becoming a U.S. citizen 23 months ago

For me, the toughest thing about this goal is “getting started”. I’m really good about delaying and finding excuses for not beginning the process, but what I really need to do is just get the ball rolling.

It’s amazing that I actually got this taken care of… thanks to my girlfriend who kept pushing me! Love her!
