Keri W. its like New years, but today!
Alright, house. I’ve had it with you. You take up too much room, all your furniture is too expensive, dolls creep me out, and even if I completed you…what’s your purpose? Just to prove I did it? I’d rather go work on my real house.
My dad built me a dollhouse when I was seven – that was 28 years ago. I played with the dollhouse a lot as I was growing up and had enough furniture for all the rooms. Somewhere along the line the furniture was lost but about six years ago I re-aquired the house from my dad’s attic.
My seven year old daughter has been playing with the house, though there is no furniture in it. She puts her lil’ Brat dolls in it and what not.
Yesterday I saw it sitting there, looking so empty and worn and I thought it would be so fun to fix it up. It was never painted and never really “dolled” up the way it could have been.
I sure don’t have time for a project like this, but it could be fun.
I will have succeeded with this goal when all of the rooms are wallpapered, the lights are all in, the carpets/floors are done, the stairs are put in, the outside is painted and the windows are re-painted and installed. I hope to work on this more after my husband get the lights in. He couldn’t last weekend, but hopefully will this weekend.
Well, I ordered the coach lights for the front of the house yesterday, so hopefully next week this time they will be in. Then I can work on the wallpaper and painting. I am so excited! By the way, thanks for the offer Michelle, I am glad I didn’t need it, but you really had an impact on me! Thank you.
I started making a dollhouse for my daughter (she’s 4) and ran out of money. I need to finish it! I really need to save $50 and fix the lights and then I will be motivated again.
