-Heart truly broken for the first time. It sucks like nothing else and I’ve still got one foot in the “experiencing” part, but I’m definitely making my way to having both feet in the “what I’ve learned” part (slowly but surely!).

-Played slightly drunken “Whose Line” games with a new group of friends. It’s the first (aside from his) that I’ve spent time with since freshman year of high school. I’m learning that I can still function as well in a group as I do one-on-one (I tend to be very shy in groups).

-Purchased a gorgeous red tobacco pipe and smoked it with a friend and his roommates. Enjoyed it thoroughly and plan to do it again this weekend.

-Had coffee with friends and categorized music into things like “awkward music to fornicate to” and “songs that make you angry.” I learned that, pretentious though it may be, making High Fidelity-style lists of music is extremely fun.

-Went bar-hopping with an acquaintance from high school. While I do not dig the bar scene in general (it’s a little too noisy and gropey for my taste), I had a really great time and just enjoyed being out and getting to know some new people. New friend enlightened me on why he thinks girls have it easy when it comes to dating; while guys get to feel creepy and awkward the entire time they are a part of the dating scene, girls get to sit back and accept or reject whatever offers come their way, like an ongoing interview process.

I have been a good, obedient, well-behaved student (and person) for my entire life. Now that graduation is in sight, I want to find a way to continue my education by doing instead of just reading or hearing about things. As generic as it sounds, I want to learn how to break rules, be spontaneous, be adventurous, and be comfortable with being uncomfortable. I don’t want to experience life vicariously anymore; it’s time to learn firsthand from my own mistakes and triumphs.
