this is part of my program and even though i will go one year later than what was supposed to be, I’m still going! And it’s next year.. it’s soon! Voy a estudiar a la universidad de la rioja, en Logrono.
Coming to spain to study is probably one of the best things I’ve ever done in my entire life. I came to the city of Murcia, its not very touristy, and its in the center of the main agricultural region of the country. Its such a fun city and eventhough I’m technically studying here, I don’t find myself doing much of that. Life here is so relaxed, the people are friendly, and the sun makes everybody happy. If anybody is planning to come here I would suggest going to a city or town that is not very well known or as much of a tourist attractions becuase you will have a better opportunity to study spainsh and live la vida espaƱola. You can always visit the popular tourist locations during one of the many long weekends you’ll have.
Good luck to all of those preparing to come to spain! Its a great place to be.
Five minutes ago, someone from the program I applied for called me to say I’d been accepted!!!
Okay, so the conservatory business fell through. Apparently they aren’t “acredited institions of learning” blah blah blah. Well, that meant I would only be able to study during the summer (because a year without music classes would set me back that long in school).
Well! I found a really cool sounding program in Granada, Spain for 6 weeks where I can take a number of classes and a homestay, hooray! I sent in my application like a week ago, and am waiting to hear back, but I’m almost positive I’ll get in since I’m pretty fluent in Spanish and I make pretty good grades.
Now I’m planning my backpacking trip through Europe for after my classes are over. SUPER EXCITING!
So I’m looking into studying at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid for a year. How freaking awesome would THAT be???!!!
Sarah Kelly is apple picking in kent...then baking some apple pies ^_^ yumm
...ahh..the root of all evil. Money always has to be an issue. maybe one day my dream wil come true, but I dont see it happening right now unfortunately…
I lived in Madrid for a year and it was easily the best year of my life so far – it was amazing! I fell in love for the first time with a man from Madrid, made some lovely friends, fell in love with the city, studied law in a uni there and worked as an English teacher – I LOVED IT!!!!! WOuld recommend this to anybody.
plus came beack fluent in Spainsh!
that I might not study during my undergrad years in Spain, but rather try to get in a young artists program for opera in Madrid of Barcelona. THAT way, I could sing opera, get paid, AND LIVE in Spain. How freaking awesome would THAT be?
It was an incredible experience—I loved every moment and cried when I had to leave.
