A book that is really helping me is “The Surrendered Wife” – it’s worth a look. Written by Laura Doyle an ex-shrew as she describes herself. It’s written with humour and is NOT a book to turn you into a subservient housewife.
On the contrary, it reminds you to take care of your self-care (the stuff you need to make you happy). Apparently, this is key to help you stop nagging. A lot of us nag when we are simply exhausted, over-extended and burnt out. We are so depleted and have nothing to look forward to so everything gets us down and we moan away.
It encourages you to stop trying to do everything yourself and also to stop having a go at your husband when he is trying to help (ie, so what if he washes the dishes a different way to you? so long as they’re done, right?)
I’d recommend this book to anyone who wants to be a softer less shrewish wife.
