    The List 5 months ago

I think the way to begin this endeavor is by first listing all the things that I love and that I want to be part of my life, as well as the things that need to be in my life.

    1. Classes – Being a college student, classes are obviously top priority. If I don’t attend them, why am I paying thousands of dollars a year? Furthermore, this year, I’m done with prerequisites, and I can honestly say that I’m looking forward to every class I’m taking this semester (except maybe the one that starts at 8 AM.)
    2. Joseph – My boyfriend of a year and a half is another top priority. I sometimes get my mind set on so many things that I neglect our relationship. And since we won’t be living in the same building this year, I have to make spending time with him a priority so that we don’t drift apart.
    3. Writing – I’m a creative writing major. I plan on being a writer of some sort, so I obviously have to work on my writing beyond what is required of me in my classes. I assumed that my writing classes would be more of a short story-writing boot camp, but they really haven’t been. So it’s up to me to churn out story after story on my own.
    4. Health/Fitness – I recently became serious about eating healthy foods and getting regular exercise (though lately, I haven’t exercised much), and if I don’t make a deliberate effort to keep it up during the school year, I’m going to fall back on old habits. I want to regularly do cardio and yoga.
    5. Mental/Spiritual Well-Being – I want to meditate every morning for mental clarity and also to ease me into waking up. I hope not to relapse back into my soda addiction, so having a morning ritual that makes me not a completely evil person in the morning will set the stage for a good day.
    6. Work – Work has to be done. I’m hoping to become a tutor this year, a job that will be so much less stressful than my current job, and hopefully something that will enrich my life and look good on resumes. It’ll be (hopefully) twenty hours a week, so even though it’s something I’m looking forward to and something that I need to make money, it will be a big chunk of my time.
