get shot in the leg

I got shot in the hand its not quite the leg but it does hurt like hell. I can best describe it as a searing hot burning sensation like… maybe getting a red hot section of re-bar being run through you. It was my left hand and I stopped the bleeding on my own but I nearly lost two fingers. Not fun…

I highly doubt that I’ll ever be in a situation where I’m being fired upon, but I’m curious. I see people getting shot all the time in the movies, and I wonder if it really hurts as much as it looks like it does.

I’ve been shot in the leg by an airgun. It just grazed my leg so I was fine, but the bruising was there for months.

I would not suggest getting shot in the leg by a pneumatic nailgun. I managed to self-inflict such a wound while working construction at the ripe age of 20, and spent 6 weeks recovering. Miraculously, the nail entered my knee joint between the two leg bones and did not (as the doctor said would have happened if the nail had been 0.5 inches north or south) shatter my knee. I did have arthroscopic surgery after they pulled the nail with a pair of channellocks. Ew.

Somewhere, I still have the nail.
