- animal control officer visit – to pick up the stray – looks like his family was found. Yay!
- headache – free pass on this day.
How I did it: Once I made the goal on 43Things I only allowed myself to write down three accomplishments a day. I'd gotten into the habit of writing a long list of tasks I'd achieved in order to make myself feel better about each passing day. Turned out it had the opposite effect and I never felt I'd done enough.
Only being able to take credit for three things each day made me more aware of a) how much I really do some days and b) how little quantity matters.
Lessons & tips: Admitting you have a problem is the first step, right? Had to admit to myself that this concept I've had for years that doing more is always better, or somehow makes me a righteous person at the end of the day. Feeling righteous can have the negative side effect of allowing you to act self-righteous. This is not good for one's relationships with others. ;D
