I am discovering that most of the generic healthy eating advice is generally true. To wit:
- eating breakfast is important. If I try to be ‘healthy’ and get by on a banana or a cup of tea I will be hitting up a drive-thru by 10:00am. Eating a bigger, but still relatively healthy breakfast keeps me from screwing up later in the day.
- drinking lots of water does fill you up and keeps you energized.
- nutrition labels exist so use them. Yes, peanut butter has protein and that is good but it also has so much fat and sugar and calories and I somehow forgot about all of this and gained 5 pounds last month which I blame on peanut butter. Okay, and other things. But I really ate a lot of that stuff. Also cheese. Good god. I was trying to go semi-vegetarian but I didn’t have the time to make healthy vegetarian meals so it was a lot of cheese-based things and peanut butter crackers. I really envy vegetarians but I am just terrible at it. Anyway, what was my point? Eating well. yes, I am learning more about eating well. 1 week ago

I spent much of fall and winter with a virus. I’m always getting sick. I need to build up my immunities and be healthy. Take vitamins, eat vegetables, cut back on sugar.
Somehow, I have to get my energy, focus and motivation back. For everything. 1 month ago

I am eating A LOT if that counts. It’s not terribly unhealthy. Typical stuff….meat, pasta, rice, veggies.
I haven’t had an appetite like this in I don’t know how long.
I have to feel it’s better to be eating good balanced meals than living on carbs, sugar and coffee.
It feels good to enjoy food again but where the heck did that come from, I wonder? 2 months ago
