I knew I had watched the movie when I was younger but all I could remember from it was a pigs skull. I also remembered not being particularly fond of it at some point. When I get to the (not going to spoil it) part about boxer I remembered and wished it was over sooner :( I could remember the move then :(
It all came flooding back. 4 years ago
I learned a lot from reading Animal Farm. Many of its allusions to Communism may now be seen as quaint, but the book underscores the importance of literature in cleverly positing a message far deeper than its storyline. 4 years ago
I have a nice list of about 20 books that I love! This one is definitely on it!
I think I read this book in 9th grade and I remember it being the first book where the imagery just popped out at me. I could see the animals in my head and hear their voices. It was a great book.
Everyone should read it. 4 years ago
This is an awesome book. Probably shaped my view of the world more than any other book I have read. The one thing that made GCSE english memorable.
I never managed 1984; this on the other hand is a doddle. 4 years ago
If you’ve recently read Orwell’s 1984, Animal Farm is like a breeze. Similar in alot of ways, Animal Farm is a far less dense tale that you could probably tell to children.
It read very fast( I think I had it done in probably under 2 hours if you tally’ed it together).
Although with all Orwell, please read, or at least have some understanding of Marxism first to so you get the satire. 4 years ago
Wow! I’m so glad I finally took the time to finish this book, it only gets better! A masterpiece really, something everyone should read 4 years ago
One day about five years ago it was one of those Spring days where it’s sunny and you just have to be outside.
I stopped by a bookstore and bought a copy of Animal Farm because I always wanted to read it. I sat in the grass and read the whole book in a couple of hours. 4 years ago
All the chapters are wow.
Finished!
It was interesting but it will only get interesting-er when I do some post-reading background research. 5 years ago
Chapter 7 was.. wow. Or more like.. wow?
Definetly not.. wow!
It’s taking me like 3 weeks to finish this tiny book! Wonder how Im going to finish catch-22… 5 years ago

I’m up to chapter 7. 3 more chapters to goooo. 5 years ago
I’m 1/3 through the book but I’m reading it like a fable or something because I chose not to take World history in school so I have only the faintest ideas on who Stalin and co are…
I had to search up on wikipedia to find out who each animal represented!
I’m so dumb. And it takes me like a month to complete one fat novel (due to school work). But I will finish it within a week. 5 years ago
and had me read this when I was 11 or 12. We then talked for a long time about socialism, communism, and capitalism. I learned a lot from my Dad. 5 years ago
