I love myself (and when I don’t, I try to tease out why on earth not and change it).
I love having a healthy, fit, functional body.
I love eating food that tastes really good.
I love supporting local and organic farmers and growers and producers.
Eating junk food would take me away from these essential facts about myself and the values I try to live by.
I can assure you that you don’t lose anything positive by eating well.
I don’t mean, BTW, that I don’t eat sugar, butter, chocolate… I mean that when I eat chocolate, I eat, oh gosh, a chef’s chocolate souffle or a torte or a bar of Schaffenberger, not a Twinkie.
Learning to make healthy and delicious food choices, to take time to shop and cook,to learn to prepare food and learn about foods you are unfamiliar with, to cook for friends… even a few steps on this journey, and you will never turn back. It’s like casual, one-night-roll-in-the-hay stands: once you’ve had the real thing (hot sex with someone you adore who adores you) there is just now going back.
If you have any craving for junk food despite all this, renting Supersize Me will probably whomp it right out of you.
