Do it! I recommend this wonderful adventure. Eat ceviche at the little restaurant on the loading wharf….if you can, try to find some of the amazing tiny tomatoes that grow there. They are about the size of a pencil eraser but pack such an intense flavor. Stay at the Hotel Galapagos. Read “My Father’s Island” by Johanna Angermeyer, the daughter of one of the 5 German brothers who fled Nazi Germany and sailed to the Galapagos of all places! I won’t even start about the wildlife, but it was worth every penny to experience the islands and the people.

My other country.. 1 year ago

I’m half from Ecuador, and have been there lots of times.. :)

Claudia and Sea Turtles :D 1 year ago

I have a penpal of sorts, e-friend whatever, that lives in Ecuador. We’ve been friends for two years now, and she’s been more of a friend than some of my real friends. Always there for me when I need her, she’s wonderful.
I’ve always wanted to go to the Islands for the purpose of taking photos. I just would love to meet Clau at the same time, it would be a wonderful trip!

it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth. beyond language. beyond compare.

    kind of 1 year ago

i haven’t physically been to the galapagos islands. i have watched numerous documentaries, seen many photos, and read, and read, and read. i feel it is much more responsible to have visted the galapagos this way than it would be for me to set foot on them.

    Galapagos Island 1 year ago

The Galapagos Islands was the most incredible trip. We stayed at the Hotel Galapagos on Santa Cruz. That island is where the Darwin Center is which is definitely worth seeing. The lava tubes are interesting to explore. The animal life there is incredible. The giant tortoises, penguins, frigate birds, iguanas, sea lions…..the list goes on. Just incredible. The scuba diving is the best I have ever done and I am an experienced diver. We dove with penguins, sea lions, sea horses, rays, all kinds of sharks including hammerheads, giant sea turtles, eels, and all kinds of fish…...I want to go again.

one of the best trips I've ever made 2 years ago

I’ve travelled a lot and this was without doubt one of the best trips I’ve ever made, the scenery is spectacular, you stay on a boat and sail from island to island, going walking during the day, and the animals..you will see Seals, sealions, iguanas, birdlife galore including blue-footed boobies and albatrosses and of course the giant tortoises! The animals have no fear of man and often you have to step over them when you’re walking around. My memories of diving with sea lion pups and the dolphins playing in our ship’s bow wave, close enough to touch, and finally celebrating New year’s Eve on the deck of the boat, gazing up at the stars, there’s no light pollution, so they are incredibly bright and watching dozens of sea snakes swimming round the boat, will, without wanting to be too corny, stay with me for the rest of my life.
