How I did it: I applied for my passport 2 months ahead of time, and it came only a few weeks before we left.  My mother in law was gracious enough to pay for our trip.  

Lessons & tips: service in Mexico is sooo much better than in the US!!

    I don’t want to just set foot outside my country, I want to experiance other cultures in person. I want to have something to compare my daily life to. How can I converse about world politics and social behaviors when I’ve never experianced anything outside my own country. And most importantly, I want my children to grow up with a world view, not just an American view.
