start a savings plan

I forgot all about this goal, but I am happy to report that I have, in fact, started a savings plan. Back in November, in fact: I set up an RSP that isn’t exactly going to be exploding with cash any time soon, but at least it’s something.

In September, when I start earning a little more, I’m going to go to a financial advisor and re-visit what I’ve set up. (I’m not at all comfortable with money and know nothing about economics, so I put in the minimum effort when I first set it up.) I’ll likely need to invest more every month, and possibly work on being more comfortable with “risky” investments, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. So yes: I’m 30 years old and I finally have a savings plan. It’s almost like I’m a responsible adult…

I’m going to start this one up in 2008, after I’ve graduated and possibly have another part-time job (my current 3 day a week job goes until August 2008). But I’m not taking it off the list because I want it to serve as a reminder. So we’ll see where this stands at the start of the new year.

i have a savings account but i use to not keep money in there, or i would put money in there then take it right out. now i am actually using it! the reason behing saving is for all my traveling this year, but hey at least i am saving. it feels good!
