I really wanted to get the mini-cactus from ThinkGeek.com, but they’ve replaced the cute one I fell in love with with some trendy cactus that looks like it’s drowning in colored-blue water.
I don’t know if I even want a cactus anymore.
How I did it: Even though airports overcharge everything, I spotted this cactus and thought that it'd be perfect to actually buy a cactus from Arizona, where I used to live. It's a little reminder of where I called home for 15 yrs.

My best friend bought this tiny little cactus ages ago and named it pedro (after san pedro). I was at his house and was amazed to see this tiny little cactus had grown sooo big! its about a metre high now. and so, i want a cactus :D
when I was a little kid, I was wandering around my godfather’s house and found this enormous (well it seemed like it at the time) cactus next to a bed in a spare bedroom. I think I was like 6, but I knew it was definitely the coolest thing I’d ever seen . . my little three inch cactus from home depot can’t really compare yet, but it’s a start!

I live in Texas for Gods sake.. Do I really need to buy cactus… when I can just walk in the back yard and see all I want… Sigh…... yes I do.. there are so many varities of succlents.. and well.. they are easy to grow.
I’ve killed off more green plants than I can count. So one day when I was driving by a cactus farm outside of town, I decided to try growing something a bit more hardy. The Euphorbia I bought for $15 was about ten inches high. That was four years ago. I’ve replanted it twice since then. It’s now two feet tall and still growing. I’ve bought eleven more cactii, all different varieties, over the years. All but one of them has thrived. And I’ve got a two-year old aloe vera plant too, still going strong. The key is not to over water. Give them lots of sunlight. Don’t transplant too frequently.
