I haven’t been worrying about this one as much lately since I’ve been getting ready for the baby to come, but I have been forcing myself to write in my journal more often (as opposed to oh… 3 times a year). As one of my English teachers said, “The secret of writing is to write”.
How to get over writer's block
How I did it:
I don't really know, but now I'm sort of working on two stories. One is just about a legend I've been sort of obsessed with since I was a kid, and one actually came from a dream I had. So one's fantasy, one's science fiction. Never thought I'd write science fiction, but I guess it's more romance than sci fi. Actually, never thought I'd write romance either... but that's ok!
Lessons & tips: Keep open to ideas... think of things you were interested in as a kid, or even 5 years ago.
Resources: ...kids' books I guess?

Getting over writer’s block is awesome. Finishing a story is one of the best feelings in the world. I just finished a bizzare short story, & if I get time, I might post it up. (But really, it is extremely bizzare.)
and a poem. Feeling much about getting over writer’s block. Must keep this up because it is a nice stress reliever. Not the BEST, but certainly something I have been missing out on for a while.
Page and half this morning. I’m happy about this because I feel right in my element when I’m putting thoughts on paper. Typing thoughts is a necessity when one wants to publish, but the real joy of writing for me is the actual act of writing and to see my pen manipulate words which completely convey my thoughts and feelings. For now my writing consists of journal entries, but I hope to finally do some creative writing.
More later…
