How I did it: I leased Rocky for 6 months before the opportunity came up to buy him. At first I was hesitant as although well educated he can be quite stubborn at times. We've worked hard since then and now have a great relationship. After 6 months of paying him off in instalments, he's finally all mine! We enjo… Read how I did it…

How I did it: A friend had several and they were moving and had to get rid of some. So we bought one. $800 POA, and he has all kinds of attitude - but he's getting better. We kept him at stables until we bought our house, which has enough land to keep him on it. Read how I did it…

It just depends on me – what kind of horse do I want. The breed could be probably quarter-horse/arabian, appaloosa, paint – anything western. I love dark bays, bay paint, buckskin, blue eyes, bald face, it goes on and on. I love all horses. The possibility of having my own horse is so exciting. Pinch me!

i have been riding for 4 years and working hard at it. out of those 4 years i have spent the past 2.5 years as a stable hand…...well trust me, where i work you’re not just a stable hand you’re the slave of 45 horses and in my case 5 days a week. i worked week days after school and both weekend days from 9am-7pm…....gosh what a job mucking stalls, doing waters, tacking up horses for lessons, feeding the horses, and bringing them in and out….....it was stressful and i want a horse so bad but even with all that work board wouldn’t have been low enough for us to afford (board is $600 a month there)......i’m telling you that i’m a good rider and amazing with all horses….....i just dont get it how someone who doesn’t even care that much about horses can just get one because they have the money, not the experience and not the passion but the god damn money…......I WANT A HORSE!

it was the best feeling taking hold of his lead rope and walking him into the trailer knowing that he was now mine… my first horse: a turning grey 2 year old Quarter Horse who is the sweetest guy I know. He is now 4 and beautiful… but unfortunately not the funnest to ride as he is rather lazy, but he is fun on trail rides :)
