How I did it: Dropped by the grocery store with Momma, picked up canned pumpkin and pie crusts.
Last night, I followed the recipe on the can of pumpkin and ended up with two delicious pumpkin pies. Tried some just about 1/2 hour ago and it was sooooo good. I got lots of compliments from the fam about how good it was!

My boyfriend and I made pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving this year and it was much less intimidating than I’d expected. We actually did it twice because the first one was a trial pie for ourselves, before we made one to share with family - just in case we messed up ;). Our biggest obstacle the first time was stewing the pumpkin. The second time around, we sliced the pumpkin and baked it until it was softe enough to spoon out of the rind. It was a piece of cake (or pie). It turned out to be delicious - much better than any store-bought pie or pie made with canned pumpkin. There’s no turning back now. 6 years ago

I took a pumpkin pie recipe and instead filled the dough with the pumpkin pie mixture. Basically made pastries. The recipe included adding Granny Smith apples to the pie filling. They were a big hit both times I’ve made them. 6 years ago

It was a dark and rainy day, so I had a nice lunch and settled in to make a Pumpkin Pie. Padded around the warm kitchen and gave the cat plenty of lap time while it rained rats and frogs outside. 6 years ago

start with a small sugar-pie pumpkin. Make sure it’s freckled – those ugly orange spots are the sugar.
some recipes require peeling and cubing and boiling the pumpkin. huge pain in the ass. don’t bother.
cut the top off, chop pumpkin in half, scoop the seeds and gunk out and put the pumpkin halves face down in a roasting pan with about an inch of water. stick it in a hot oven (350-400 degrees) for about 45 minutes to an hour. the skin will peel off and you can scoop the mush into a bowl and mash it. 6 years ago
