have nice things

Purchased: one macbook pro duo-core 2.0Ghz, one sweet-ass apartment. I am like a plant. If I fertilize myself, I will do okay.

On the duo-core Intel processors: I bought this thing with the assumption that once Adobe/Macromedia puts out versions of their software in Universal format, my little laptop will be able to edit and render as fast/faster than a big powemac G5. So far Firefox is slow, and playing fancy multiplayer first-person shooter games is fruitless. (More fruitless than it usually is.)

And I swear, a laptop can be a SERIOUS time-sink. It’s like I’ve suddenly become a severe alcoholic. Starting yesterday, it doesn’t leave my apartment.

but I do, on occasion. This falls under “take care of yourself or you’ll die.” Do what it takes to stay happy and motivated, and sometimes that includes buying new clothes or a camera or an apartment that’s not terribly drafty in the winter.
