    a little goes a long way  — 1 month ago

    Have been managing a short practice most mornings even if just 10-15 min., usually a handful of sun salutes with some variations thrown in; usually something twisty, something balancing, but whatever I’m feeling. I feel so much more awake and in myself. I still enjoy my coffee, but it feels more like a choice. On the other side of things, starting off the day feeling loose and present makes me notice how crooked I feel by the end of the day.

    Am sad to be losing free, friendly yoga class at work :(
    I suppose I should be grateful I ever had it at all, but I’m not sure when the next time I’ll be able to afford classes will be. So, I guess that makes the doing it at home more important. Maybe I’ll need to make a time once a week to do a more extended practice.

    I haven't ever been a true Yoga initiate  — 2 months ago

    however, people have commented that I am stronger and more flexible than they would expect.

    Recently I have learned to balance a kitchen glass on its rim for up to 2 seconds. This is something you would not ordinarily expect. I have trained for a long while and am not what you expect from this voice.

    My form of tai chi, which I do not teach and have not learned might be called Mech’i, based on perpetual motion concepts I run out of a garage in California; apart from the garage and California this is all true; however, Mech’i although graceful to the point almost of superhuman slight-of-arm is not a developed art form, and is often refuted by science;;

    as someone from high school would say, this message will self destruct _ _ _

    I went to yoga yesterday, & I signed up. I am soo excited, if I could I would probably take a class daily! (LOL)

    The class went great, & it really felt good to strech my muscles!!!! :)

    finally doing it  — 1 year ago

    i used to do yoga all the time, mostly in the morning, before bed and during study breaks, but i just fell out of the habit when i got so busy i barely had time to breathe. now i have my first real summer vacation (i only took one class and it’s over now) and i have the chance to get back into my habit and stretch out my muscles again. i did it for the first time in a long time tonight and i feel great and i plan on waking up early before work tomorrow so i can do my morning stretches (rather than waking up just in time to get a shower and get to work). this is also in conjunction with another goal of mine, to cut down the stress level in my life.

    I first started taking yoga with my girlfriend, & I actually thought at first it wasn’t for me, but after the first class, I was HOOKED!!!

    Yoga does so much for me, inside & out, I definitly feel so good inside, I just need to practice it more often. :)

    Partner Drama Makes Yoga Much Easier  — 1 year ago

    So after the weekend from hell during which who knows what the hell happened between myself and my significant other, I got a hell of a lot of yoga done. I also hiked, went to the lake and hung out by the pool – just trying to do everything that generally calms me down. I think I did at least half an hour of yoga a day, and as soon as finals are finished this week, I’ll definitely be doing at least an hour.

    Can anyone recommend any good stretching tapes? I’m not looking for anything too glam or fast, I just want slow, real, purposeful yoga instruction.

    I like Rodney Yee  — 1 year ago

    I’ve recently been doing really well keeping up with my daily workouts, but I have not been stretching at all. I just did about half an hour from Rodney Yee’s strength-building yoga DVD, which was great for my neck and legs (they’ve been feeling really tight lately, which makes me feel way more tense). My goal now is to start stretching in the mornings before work!
