and I know how stupid this sounds, that though I got a raise on October, through yet another oversight (this happened last year too) by my supervisor, the raise has yet to be tacked on to my paycheck.
Of course I am frustrated with my supervisor’s incompetence with this, but there isn’t much excuse for me not making sure my pay was correct on the first paycheck that the raise should have shown up on, (esp as it’s happened once already.) I’m relying on my employer to make sure I’m being paid what I’ve been told? (I know in theory you SHOULD be able to.)
Part of the reason is that I’m so bad about money. Not that I don’t keep track of it, but as long as I have all I need I don’t really think about it. I just don’t care about it that much.
But, this is not about money. This is about knowing what’s going on, making sure I’m not being taken advantage of, giving my life the attention I deserve. I see now that I have not been doing that very well. This is quite a wake up call.
