I’ve started writing fiction again. I’ve started a few story starts as a result of the inspiration I’ve received from others who participate in Nanowrimo. I didn’t write a novel in November, so I didn’t accomplish that, but I did manage to write about 1200 words of story.

I began writing a few stories back in highschool, but I never finished. I allowed myself to get discouraged from the advice of teachers that science fiction wasn’t good, you should write about what you know. I realize that was good advice, but it doesn’t preclude science fiction. But SF can be a refuge from introspection and self-disclosure. I did successfully write a role playing game module, but it was just a set of ideas, drawings, and notes in a notebook. What’s the next step? Take a class, just write it, hmmm, there are some interesting looking ads on the right there. Published authors teach SF writing… Just click it… be back later.

I have a new title, inspired by a repair which was necessary with my car: Lichtmaschine. It sounds quite banal in English: generator, dynamo etc., but literally translated, Lichtmaschine means “light machine” and “light” has a lot of connotations… A machine fighting against the dark…

Are sitting at my desk. One is more of a weird tale, including communication without words and an old man.
The other one is a robot story with some apocalyptic theme thrown in.
Will finish the first one this year and publish it, maybe with illustrations by a belgian guy (www.moonbug.org/log).

I already have an idea for a title: “under a yellow moon” – a line from a song by The Cure

I’ve started writing this story (my second one; the first was pretty much rubbish, so I don’t count it) in my mind, during a long and boring swimming session. I’ve written its first part, but I’m much stuck with it.
Would dearly like to finish it.
I’ll publish it here, if and when it’ll be done.

You wont be able to write just one! Plus it’s a craft so you get better as you do more.
However selling it is a different story.
