Better late than never

Being late on my birthday goals, I would just like to take this time to wish you a very merry unbirthday!

(The side-quote as I post this is “We grow too soon old and too late smart.” – Pennsylvania Dutch saying. So here’s to wisdom coming early, and youth staying late, n’at! Happy 18th!!)

I suck at remembering birthdays – but I hope your’s was out-of-this-world fantastic!! And if not that, then I hope you at least got some cake. May your next year be full of happiness, beauty, and laughter =D

In preparation for giving this 43er some birthday wishes I was reading her entries about college life and they brought back memories from my time at college. She was lamenting about the number of fire alarms and having to deal with drunk people in the middle of the night in the middle of the week. It was always interesting to me to see how many guys there were hanging around in the middle of the night outside the girl’s dorm during a fire alarm. Guys of course were supposed to be out of the building by 10pm, but lots of nights it seemed like there were more guys than girls there. She also shared about a guy being in the girls bathroom when she got out of the shower, and I know there were times I was in the girls room and there were times there were girls in the guys bathroom too. It’s nice to see that things at college haven’t changed in the past 20 years. Here are my wishes for BeautifulDay for the coming year:

May she overcome her fears and apprehension and go for it because it’s all inside her head. May she make the time to exercise more, and make better choices in what to eat (besides sandwiches), so that she can lose some weight. And may she make the time to finish that wee little project while not letting it interfere with her classwork.

I hope you have a super amazing, fantastic, wonderfulllllllllllll birthday! You’re a fantastic girl and I wish all the very best things for you!!!!
