How to read The Lord of The Rings
It made me
thoughtful
 "It's a beautiful book that I can never get enough of; the poetry is epic, and the story almost materializes as you read. It's beyond perfect!"
How I did it: I realize it takes most people a lot longer, but i really did read the book and apendix in just a week; and i consider it as a long time, i've done it in 3 days since then a few times. Also the silmarillion is a great book to explain a lot of the history of the First Age.

Towards the end, I was surprised at all of the parts that were totally omitted from the films. today i bought the books from amazon. i was sitting in school on the computers in the library, looking up books on amazon, and i saw that there was a boxset for £13 so i bought it because i thought it was a good bargain! i think i will be more encouraged to read them when they arrive and i actually have them, as opposed to if i had to go to the library and borrow them.
I’ve been putting this off forever. I got the books, but they’ve been sitting on my shelf unread. I tried about a month ago but stopped but I want to try again soon.

I finished Fellowship in exactly 7 days, and I’m now moving on to the Two Towers. I make it a point to read at least 2 chapters or 30-40 pages a day. However, I have typically been reading anywhere from 50-75 pages a day. At this rate, I should finish the trilogy within two weeks. I am debating whether I will read all of the appendices at the end or not, as I have not been referring to them throughout the readings, and my main goal is just to finish the books themselves.

A little bit intimidated by the size of my one-volume LOTR book. It’s massive, and my last attempt (several years ago) failed somewhere in the middle of Fellowship. However, I was younger, and now I have more patience and a greater desire, I can only hope that returning to school doesn’t interrupt the reading.

I’ve just started on The Return of the King and am loving it! I’ve started taking proper lunch hours at work and will take the book in with me to read every day. Add in the time I spend on the train and I could have finished it by this time next week!!
