ToddieM Those who can take all life throws at them with a kind heart and smile

I always find it interesting when a heated debate starts, and somebody launches a few bombs, and then hits the “disallow comment” button to avoid retaliation.
Sounds kinda weinie like to me.
Jimrin, I don’t know what you do, but until you’re willing to totally go under the gov’t’s thumb for everything related to your business, you have no right to talk about “fair.”
Liberals love to “be giving” when it doesn’t affect their bottom line.
Enjoy your little celebration, Jimrin, the country is headed for fiscal disaster because of “useful idiots” such as yourself. With the country already trillions in debt, we now want to take this on?
I’m just quoting history with the “useful idiots” comment. I’m in no way equivocating Obama with Stalin. I’m saying that history has a precedent for political regimes to get their agenda in. Learn from history for a change, Jimmy boy.

I wonder if any of you so gung-ho on this government encroachment, would be happy if you were told what you could charge, what you could do those clients you service, and even whether you could see them at all.
Are actors told this, are lawyers told this???
Of course not. If you wonder why doctors are so dead set against this atrocity, think about that.
And any of you that do work for yourselves, and depend on your own efforts for your paycheck…..SHAME on you for supporting this.

I’m hoping that all of you lobbying so hard to get this passed, are happy with socialism and the removing of your personal freedoms.
The founding fathers are turning over in their graves at this horrendous piece of government legislation.

Using Louisiana's free clinic on Saturday as an indication of the state of health care in the US... 1 week ago

The following is from the referenced article.

  • 83% who went to the free clinic are employed, they are not accepting other government help on a large scale, not “welfare queens”. They are tax-paying, good, upstanding citizens who are trying to make it and give their kids a better life just like you and me.
  • 90% who came through Saturday’s clinic had two or more diagnoses.
  • 82% had a life-threatening condition such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or hypertension.

One of the women was diagnosed with cancer. To quote the article:

It happened as I watched a 50-something woman walk out, after spending several hours being attended to by volunteer doctors. “She’s decided against treatment. A reasonable decision under the circumstances,” the doctor tells us as she heads for the next patient. The president of the board of the National Association of Free Health Clinics tells me why: “It’s stage four breast cancer, her body is filled with tumors.” I don’t know when that woman last saw a doctor. But I do know that if she had health insurance, the odds she would have seen a doctor long ago are much higher, and her chances for an earlier diagnosis and treatment would have been far greater.

After watching for hours as the patients moved through the clinic, it was hard to believe that I was in America.

Over 2200 vets died last year... 1 week ago

in the US… due to lack of health care based on a recent study.

These vets weren’t poor enough or disabled enough to get benefits from the VA. Like many individuals who do not get health insurance from their employer, they are left to fend for themselves which in the end often means no health insurance.

I like this video, 3 weeks ago

and have countless similar stories from our own medical practice of supposedly-insured Alzheimer’s patients who are unable to get proper care.
