How to go to a drive-in movie"the drive-in was exciting, comfortable, and overall enjoyable."
How I did it: it definitely wasn't easy, drive-in theaters are hard to find!!!! i searched the internet trying to find one close to my house and finally came up with the closest one, which ended up being in montclair, ca. about an hour and twenty minutes from my house, called mission tiki drive-in. i was sooooo excited!!! my boyfriend and i watched saw v (good movie by the way). they had a whole snack shack we walked to and got goodies, then turned on the radio to our movie station and just hung out together. it was kind of like renting a movie at home, but with a giant screen and amazing surround sound. we plan on trying to make a trip out there at least once a month because we enjoyed it so much .. oh, and it was super cheap, only like seven bucks! Lessons & tips: when you search for the closest one near your house, make sure it is still opened, and running! try to find a website for it if you can. Resources: the internet!!!! haha. just google drive-in theaters that are still opened. |

How I did it: Found a drive-in in Memphis, TN. Drove there. Got drinks and popcorn. Picked out the screen we wanted to watch. Ended up having to shed lots of clothes. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I know there aren't too many places left to do this, but I live very close to a drive-in theatre. If anyone is in the Shuswap Valley in BC, Canada, there's a little town on HWY 97B called Enderby. Just south of the town, you will find a drive in with cheap Tuesday nights. They always run double features and start around 9pm (dusk). Read how I did it…

How I did it: I won tickets to an advance screening of "The Goods" at Bengie's Drive-In. Bengie's was nice and convient since it was 30 minutes away. The place itself was nice to see since even the snack shop was a throwback to the 1950s. The staff was courteous and efficient in having food ready in a timely fashion. However, prior to the movie starting the owner spent 3 minutes berating a customer from the previous night and given the whole page of ru… Read how I did it…

Ok, the season has started for the drive-in, but they have been showing movies that I have already seen :(. So, now I am just waiting for the right movies to be shown. However, I am going on vacation in a few weeks, so this might have to wait til I get back.

I have had this on my to-do list for the past 2 summer seasons. Bengie’s is right here in Maryland (www.bengies.com). So, I just got an email the other day about their upcoming season. This is definitely on my list this year.

Sort of?
It was a temporary drive-in, set up for August. I still plan to go to one of the large, established locations though. I’m hoping people have better drive-in etiquette there. (Parents, while scooting the kids up to sit on the top of the car might seem like a good solution, it takes away from the idea that anyone behind you will be able to watch in their vehicles too. Also, popping open the minivan’s trunk for the evening will have similar consequences…)
Over all, it was great. I got to see Transformers again. And I know it will be worth the drive to find one of the old, fun ones.

I went to see Spiderman 1 at a drive-in movie theater when it first came out with my aunt and uncle in Stephen City in Virginia, I think it was. It was an interesting experience.

Saw Tropic Thunder last night at the Drive-In in Warwick, NY. Very awesome experience. Exceptionally silly film – appropriate choice for a drive-in. Place was packed! They have 3 screens & show double features on each for $8 per adult. How cool is that? Unfortunately, couldn’t stay for 2nd film which was Mummy. Definitely will go again!!

I really liked going to the drive-in. I would love to do it again some time.

Setting out to get a final head count, here. Probably switching venues to The Ford-Wyoming – http://www.fordwyomingdrivein.com/ – since it’s closer.
