Add all the little things up and you might turn out to be much happier than you thought you were.

Not saying that a person should not have amazing goals, hopes and dreams. But just doing a few of your “little things” of my 43 Things website can make a world of difference. Big is not always better…

My bike got stolen. 2 years ago

Sometimes, you need to lose something to gain something else. Riding my bike made me angry at pedestrians and always in a rush. Walking to class (in college) forces you to take your time, enjoy landscaping, and be attentive to all things around you.
    It’s a work-in-progress.

This has to be one of the easiest goals for me. I find the simpliest things in life the most enjoyable, all the time. Like, for instance, my dad and I were driving to Circuit City at 8:00 a week ago, and we passed the store ‘Men’s Wearhouse’. Except, the lights weren’t working correct and it said ‘Men’s EarOuse’.

I couldn’t stop laughing. I have no idea why.

I need to do it more, just sit down and do nothing and like it. That’s very hard for me, which is funny, because it never used to be. I guess it’s just because we live in America, where if you like to do nothing, it’s apparently sad.

Waking up to a clean house, because my mother has been looking after me. It’s like I* am on holidays *:)
She has been doing so much for me. I am glad she and my partner are getting along, I think its cute my Dad has been suddenly calling every day, since Mum is here and the best thing was definitely looking at all the video footage she took from my family in Indonesia, which she was visiting no the way.
    Nuffin like family.
    :)

The 7 wonders of my life 2006 3 years ago

I discovered today that my life has changed a tiny little bit this year already. I have new options to not screw my life up this time.

There are some things I want to learn from the bottom of my heart and put at least a week worths of time for each of them this year. A full week with its 168 hours for each of those things:

    1* Reading (Book 1: Accounting, Book2: Marketing)
Not only will I be catching up, I will regard those two things as something that may get me somewhere and put it to use, I want to read those books and remember what they are about as if my life dependet on it.

2* Extra work for the company outside my work schedule.
This will help me hopefully with finances and give me a sense of direction career wise, so I don’t stand there like a fool at the end of the year.

3* How to drive a car
This will stop my parents complaining and me putting it off like something that is unobtainable. Do you ever dream that you can fly? And wake up and think “Wow, that was amazing.”
Well I dream of driving, with a similar sensation. But then I wake up and think “Wow, I’m so pov.”
    Well that has to stop.

    4* Photography
Now here is something I am good at, something I like. Why not give myself the option to persue it as a career on day, just for kicks? This is the only business I could think of suitable to my character, where I really could be my own boss, without feeling awkward or nervous.
I want to have a kick ass portofolio.

5* How to use Photoshop/ other Image Program
This would not only make sense in terms of playing around with my photos, but also maybe give me a chance at a marketing company. Imagine I am doing the good ol’ coffee and tea thing and could pitch some ideas, or have a portofolio ready with some good stuff. I admire people who get a job based on their talent, without a piece of paper to prove it.

    6* Jazz Piano
I studied for so long and let it go aswell. I am doing good with improvisation, but I need someone to expire me and guide me and give me that “want to want” feeling again.

    7 Exercise
This is like I exercised 20min every third day a week. not too shabby. Of course I would like to do more than that, but this would be something to work at and count down too. Exercise makes me happy, and generally helps my brain to calm down a little.
    Definitely have to do this.

    FUCKEN YEAH! 3 years ago

Excuse my language… I just got the biggest weight lifted of my shoulders. All my financial troubles are solved for now, although I was in such a bad spot only hours ealier. That feels like being pushed of a cliff and then realizing that I have wings.

YEY for great supportive people who made it happen.

If you ever are at uni and think damn, I am not going to be able to handle this or that or you don’t know how to pay it off. Find someone at uni who can support you and GO and write letters. Write hundredss of them if you have to. Chase it up.
It will be definitely worth it.

Not only I am out of debt – I also have money left over, which solves the whole guilt thing towards my parents… And that my mother isn’t worried about me. That was my primary goal.

    God I am happy.

    TAKESHI KITANO 3 years ago

I watched one of Takeshi Kitano’s movies in 2003 – “Brother” – the movie I shared with my partner only a couple of days ago.
    And F&?CK HE IS GOOD.
He isn’t only usually the main character in the movies, but also is WRITER, DIRECTOR AND EDITOR.

If you haven’t seen a Takeshi Kitano movie before, than let me slap you. :D He is the equivalent to Japanese film, Al Pacino was to Scarface.

Compared to Tony Montana, Takeshi Kitano hardly speaks a line. He has this silent authority.
In “Brother” he doesn’t speak a word in the first 10min. of the movie.

He smokes in every single movie I have seen – makes it look good like the good ol’ Humphry Bogart in Casablanca, when “REAL MEN” still did smoke and drink.

    I <3 Kitano.

8)Great Cab Drivers 3 years ago

I just was driven home by this Croation Cab Driver. He took his time to explain to me how to work a stick shift and why I shouldn’t be afraid to drive. His name is Valentino and the next time I will meet him will be in MY car, giving him a lift (he said he would even pay me, hahah) when I am driving.

Now, there is a sleezy lame ass flirt way to communicate with people and there is a sincere level. He was really nice.

On an other occasion and Indian cabbie told me about his friends misfortunes and his constantly broken car, because he is such a cheap skate. I had good laughs with him…

And who could forget that Iranian Cabbie who told me the biggest, soppiest love story I had heard in a long time. About his lady when he was in Germany, who he met by accident in a restaurant. How loving and happy they were together. How they split in friendship so she could be together with her ex who just got out of jail (3 years sentence) and how she wanted the cabbie back and he didn’t take her, because of pride and a broken heart. This he said, now, 30 years later, is his biggest regret in life. He said he thinks every day about that woman.

    Come on.
    Heartbreaking, huh.

I have met some awesome people via Cab. Definitely worth the 10 bucks.

    7) Thunderstorms 3 years ago

Something new I learned to appreciate today…

When you hear it thunder, loud and glorious, see huuuuge lightnings… but have 4 very heavy bags of shopping and paperstuffs and can’t afford to be blasted by thousands of monsum like raindrops… :D

And then you make it. YEEEEY.
