be an explorer

Not been on any major exploration recently, far too busy with med school, but have been on lots of little trips to London, Cambridge and Birmingham! But had a fantastic time at the RGS Explore weekend, and think I have a research idea which will enable me to get some exploration in whilst also studying and earning, so that is really cool. I also applied for BSES expedition some time ago, but don’t know what the outcome is yet, if I get it I have a place on a Himalayas expedition. But it may be that if I get my research project I will need to do other travelling for that. Either way its all good.

still high up on my list of things I really want to do. Went to the Explore 2008 conference at the RGS and was incredibly inspired and met lots of like-minded people. Its definitely something that is getting closer to being achieved! Hope to go on an expedition in 2010 with BSES, lots of expeditions planned through WASPS, and if I can get a career with the Royal Navy and then NASA then who knows!!

go to the north pole, break some records, visit the royal geographic society, maybe win an award or two, raise money for my favourite charity, and actually be happy that i finally accomplished something with my life. then bore the future grandkids to tears with stories like ‘when i was in the north pole..’
