I painted a sort of amateurish picture a while ago and I’ld like to follow it up with another one, just for fun

I finished the painting I’m giving to my friend for Christmas…this one is kind of cute, actually.
I just need to sign it, I guess, and then I’m done.
This one is so simple it’s almost silly…in fact, my Mum laughed when I showed it to her. It only took a few minutes to complete once I figured out what I wanted to do and got the paint mixed…but I kinda like it, and it actually has a meaning. Go figure.
I also started on the painting I’m giving to a friend for Christmas…there’s still a lot that needs done on it, though.
Oooh, I’ve got another idea. One of my friends has been wanting me to do some sort of artwork for her, so I think I’ll do this one for her for Christmas.
Finished! More or less. It turned out a little different than what I originally planned, but it’s pretty close. The colors are a little brighter, but I (sorta) got them evened out, and it’s almost ridiculously simple looking. It’s probably not a masterpiece, but I like it. I really should paint more often.
Hmm. I started the painting today but it isn’t coming out quite the way I want. The colors are really off and it’s horribly shabby looking.
I think what I need to do is take a bunch of paint and actually get it all mixed to the precise colors I need, and that way I won’t have to go about this insane business of mixing as I go. That’s how I end up with a half a million different shades.
Granted, having a lot of shades in a painting isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not what I had in mind for this particular picture.
I probably need to get some more paint… and put down some newspapers or something. Within two hours time, I managed to get paint on my pajamas, a tablecloth, my computer(!), and the carpet.
Frankly, I think it can be said that I don’t know how to paint.
But I’m going to anyways!
I’ve got this nice mental image. I’m sure it’s not terribly original, but it’s a start. It’s much more soothing than the last painting I did.
I’ve got another picture in my head, too, but I think it would be better served in pencil or charcoal or something of that sort. And I’m going to need some reference pictures. That one will probably be a little more difficult…
