How to tour with a band
How I did it: I recently started getting into concert photography, and was helped out *a lot* by a friend who has been doing it for quite some time. I wish I had a cool story on how I did it, but it was basically knowing people who knew people.
Lessons & tips: Don't be such a fan. Being a part of the tour means that you're there for some sort of role (ex: I was one of the photographers), and because you appreciate the music. Stressing on "appreciate". Wanting to be part of a tour because "you're their biggest fan ever, omg" is not a reason. Bands have plenty of starstruck fans...they don't need them as part of their crew.
Resources: Contacts. Friends. Contacts becoming friends.

I found a band who’s willing to try me out so I’ll possibly be on tour next year. I’m beyond stoked because this is all I’ve ever wanted.
Wish me luck!
This fell through. They decided to take someone else out with them :(
temporarydecoyerinn has to have her tonsils taken out
i would love to maybe work with sound or setting up tour dates with a smaller scale band but one i could become really close with
SarahBug no longer doubts the things she always knew
Although I still think it would be an absolutely amazing experience, I just don’t forsee this happening. Perhaps when I’m out of school and doing my own photography/design thing, it will become more likely.
I was doing photography and it was only for a weekend. But it was a lot of fun. So, I’m hoping I can travel with them again this summer.
I’ve toured with many bands Dancing for bands like Panic! and MCR and I’ve also done work as a roadie. Its worth it expessialy if your in my position You learn so much!
i’m deleting the ones that currently appear to be out of my reach, and sticking with goals that i can work towards in the here and now.
for now.
i was once offered the job of managing a band… but i would’ve had to move to kansas city. i hope that opportunity will come up again, more locally… or someplace that i wouldn’t mind moving.
