grandmonsterThe photo scanning

has continued this week. The scanning takes almost no time. However, digitally sorting, naming, and taking the photos out of the frames has taken much more time. I discovered the retouch button along the way and I’m fixing torn, creased and stained photos as I go.

I also am sorting the paper photos to go to brothers, sister, and my children. I have what I thought was a black and white photo of my son and his wife. And, I realized that is actually a drawing. I will keep it, and I think I will also digitalize it to the computer photo album.

Finally, this week I dragged the huge foot locker with many photographs in it, down the stairs and put it on top of my washing machine. I want it off the floor and somewhat out of the way, but not too far away. Here’s what it looks like.

Now, if I really get into my photos this month, I will gather up all the photo albums (20-30) that are throughout my home and put them in my office. In the meantime, I think that just getting the photos out of the frames will be enough. 3 months ago

grandmonsterI've been

overjoyed with getting the photos scanned. Yes, after trying this twice before unsuccessfully, I finally figured out what to do. (It was simple, I just had a problem with the angle I put the memory card into the printer.) I like the way these photos turned out so much better than the digital gizmo, that I donated the gizmo. I have been taking the photos out of their frames and scanning those, too. In the process I found an old picture of my ex behind my son’s photo. Love it. I’ve scanned it and I’ll find out his new address and mail it to him.

Even though I got a lot of them digitalized I have hundreds or maybe thousands more. There is a 6 foot by 2 foot by 6 inch aluminum case that is stuffed full of photos. Time to bring them down to my office so I can begin the process.

I’ve thrown a few of the photos away because I don’t want to send them back to the people who sent them to me. And, I’m having problems with baby pictures. I hate to trash them. I’ve done it and it is still difficult. 3 months ago

grandmonsterI've finally

begun this process once again. I think I now have duplicates and maybe even triplicates of some photos. There are 20,000 on my external (I mistyped “eternal” instead of “external”. Oh if only it were so.) drive and 1100 (maybe some duplicates to the 20K) on 2 memory cards that I have in my digital frames. I started the digitalizing of the snapshots in my office this past week. Once they are copied, I’ll start some of the larger photos. I’m not very clever with scanning the 8×10 size. We’ll see if I can improve. I’m keeping very few of the actual photos. Some are going to my son and step-daughter and some are going to the grandchildren. I even have one envelope of some that I think my husband might want. The duplicates from all these are going to the bin. 4 months ago

Maggief927I hope to take a lot of pictures this Christmas

For some reason we didn’t take many pictures on Thanksgiving. I don’t know why since a lot of us were together. I want to focus on getting as many good pictures as I can. Sometimes the opportunity to take pictures pass and we regret the lack of pictures later when it is too late. I am working on getting some pictures in order for my granddaughter. I am also putting a CD together for the ladies at the school. I want to get the photos printed that I need for scrapping. 4 months ago

Maggief927So I got caught up in other things

and I forgot I was going to try and spend 15 minutes every other day getting these pictures organized. I am going to get started on this. I keep taking pictures, but I keep putting off organizing the photographs. I seem to be putting off everything, and that has to change. 8 months ago

Maggief927I am going to Flylady my photograhs

or I will never get them organized. I am going to try and spend at least 15 minutes every other day working on organizing my photos. I hope to catch up and keep caught up in this manner. 10 months ago

Maggief927Organizing photos causing the resurfacing of memories

I am really spending more time thinking about the when the pictures were taken and who and where we were at the time. I am overjoyed by the memories that are coming through. I seemed to have blocked a lot of things from my past. I forgot about people I found interesting and I even forgot jobs that I had in the past. I am really enjoying this “Thing”, but I am doing more looking than organizing at the moment. 11 months ago

Maggief927Working on this

I am trying to sort pictures out as I add them to my computer, but I am behind. I want to get them organized so I can start scrap booking. I seem to always be behind. 11 months ago

grandmonsterI'm back to

organizing the photos. At the beginning of every month, I’ll be backing up the computer. 18 months ago

grandmonsterI completed

putting a great many photos on my computer and then the laptop was stolen, so, I’m hoping that the majority of my father’s slides are on the external drive. I can only hope. 19 months ago

grandmonsterI worked on this goal

Until it got nice enough outside to work in the garden (about 2 weeks ago). Now, I’ll put this goal aside until Autumn. 23 months ago
