It’s going to be hard to beat 2009, but I’m going to give it a shot! :)

SimplyStacey is fiddling around with her goals and resolutions.
Of course there have been some great things about the past year. I got my first book contract…a very modest one, to be sure, but still! I wrote poems. I went to D.C. with G., and I co-hosted an office party for Halloween that was a smashing success.
It was a tough year, though. Things at work were terribly uncertain, and a few of our friends got laid off. I struggled with pretty serious bouts of depression.
But now I’m back on meds, I feel like talking with a professional gave me better coping mechanisms, and I really expect to continue to be my real, cheery self in 2010 (and I’ll take care of things RIGHT AWAY if I’m not.)
For 2009, I didn’t do the Ditzler Best Year Yet thing of identifying 10 resolutions, and I think that was a mistake. I think doing that really did help to make 2008 a terrific year.
They may change, but right now I’m looking at these 10 goals. Several of them are about having fun, so that’s got to be good, right?
1. be a gym rat
2. have a “date night” at least twice a month
3. Hike in the Chiricahuas.
4. have a wonderful book release party
5. Pay off the siding.
6. give hand-made holiday gifts
7. sell another book
8. publish more poems
9. save $5000
10. Truly celebrate all the holidays and special days in 2010.
sarahinparis Finally finished that bathroom art project! Pics in the entry below
I just completed the Jenny Ditzler “Your Best Year Yet” plan for the upcoming period—which will cover the end of 2009 and all of 2010 (or until I feel I need to change goals).
Will integrate those goals into 43T in the coming week.
I’m excited, the priorities I have for this time period are very clear, and will lead to a great quality of life.
