start an organic farm

Hi,

Have about 1 acre of unused land. wnated to start organic farming on it just for the family.
How do I start. Have never even done gardening before!!!!

i group this thing in with my chicken and babydoll sheep things—i.e., things i’ll get to for my “golden years” career. though i harbor fantasies of throwing in the towel on all this silly academic posturing (better if done with an inflatable schtick to bash over others’ heads) and move up north to horticultural zone 9 or 8, and plant up an orchard of heirloom fruits.

certainly, i get very little good work done once the warm weather hits (and i’m in southern ca!) since i’m so preoccupied with what might possibly be growing outside… hm.

Would like to exchange ideas on the A to Z about organic or natural farming.

Five friends and I have had a dream to start ‘the farm’ sometime in the next four years. This goes hand-in-hand with our dream to set up a summer camp for kids where they will have the chance to learn about sustainable living and greener practices without the social pressures of society.
