make a fabulous dress

a really awesome dress today at the mall that I think would be particularly easy to make, and could be worn as a summer dress (the style was very prom-y because its March <.< ) I’m going to try and get my mom’s old sewing machine from the house and gather up everything I need. It will obviously take me awhile, and I will need a patern, but I will definitely do this by the end of the summer!

I want to make a cute little tea party-ish dress but i don’t know how!!! If anyone has a tip or is willing to give instructions, please help me.

I got the dress done just in the nick of time. There were some unexpected fitting issues that mysteriously appeared, and I, by the grace of God, was able to get them under control so I could finish and wear the dress to my friend’s wedding! Yay!

I have just finished the fourth and final mock-up in muslin…worked out all the fitting and design issues, and tonight cut the dress out of the beautiful silk dupioni. I’m making this dress to wear to a wedding next Saturday!

I ordered some beautiful claret silk dupioni fabric to make the dress. I’m thinking it will be an A-line wrap dress, elegant yet simple. I hope to have it ready for the wedding I am attending October 1st. Yikes, that’s soon!
