Germany is a great destination. So much history, and so much history destroyed. If you are learning German, the German will love you for it, and will encourage and help you. If you are not learning German, don’t worry; plenty of people speak English there.

My grandfather was born and raised in Soltau, Germany . They moved to the US when Gramps was only 12. Especially because my family was born and raised there, I’d love to visit Germany and learn more about their culture. Taking my Daughter to see the “homeland” of her great-grandpa would be an amazing feeling too!
I’m definately going back next year – and if my german improves to a fluency level I may even spend a year or more over there working….
3 weeks was not enough time with my awesome friends though!
Traveled to Germany along with my German class this year for two weeks and had the time of my life! C: About 13 went and we all had host families to stay with. No matter what anyone tells you about Germany, you must atleast visit once! (we stayed in a town called Heilbronn.)
