Tonight I think I am going to make Chili while my daughter is at dance class, that way she can come home to a nice warm dinner! Corn bread sounds good too :)

daithy hating monday!
The last few days I have been cooking at home and going home for my lunch break (my poor daughter has been sick). Tonight I will be making cornish hens!
daithy hating monday!
We have been eating at home more and more. I have been making delicious home cooked meals. I now have a refrigerator full of left overs! Anybody hungry?
daithy hating monday!
I have been feeling like I want to cook, a LOT. I think when we are fully done remodeling the kitchen I will be even more anxious. Tomorrow Zoey and I will be making home made chicken and dumplings, while we work on going through her clothes.
My poor child has hit a growth spurt. She is still very thin, but she has grown very tall! She has outgrown all of her dresses. It amazes me how childrens size 6 is too short for her! She’s only 5!
We have to go through all her clothes so we know what we need to buy for school.
I used to cook a lot, now my kids cook quite a bit and they are good at it. I would like to do more menu planning, shopping and cooking because I think that would be best for my family. I am hoping that this will bring us closer. My biggest hold up is my kitchen. I just don’t want to be in my kitchen. This will change when I move because I want to enjoy food and cooking the way I used to.
I really need to start making meals at home more often. It’s cheaper and healthier most of the time. I need to stop spending money and loss some weight so this will be helpful.
Dana is...bringing her own sunshine is thankful
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, just never felt I had the time to do it every single night. BUT lately I have been baking a lot. I have made some treats and brought them to work a couple of times. Sunday night I made brownies from items I had in the cabinet. I kinda felt like my grandmother who used to always have things on hand and could whip up anything! I felt creative. :) (maybe nerdy, but still creative too). And they were actually good. :)
And last night I got the crock pot out and tried a new chicken and sweet potato recipe I found, while my husband skinned the chicken I made the ‘base’ in the crock pot; sweet potato sliced, pineapple and juice, chicken broth and made up a bbq sauce. We let it sit over night and it’s cooking right now while I’m working. How can you beat that?! I love crock pots.
I feel like I’m on a roll with cooking (no pun intended…lol). I usually get this way in the winter, but I’m thinking if I cook at home more, I could bring left overs and work on the goal of NOT eating at my favorite cafe EVERY day, just going for tea or a small piece of chocolate. :-)
You know, I’m saving so much money cooking at home and it’s really satisfying. Get out of the eating out trap! Cooking can bring you joy!
