need to read it for school. At hospital can’t leave and I don’t have the book with me and I have to read it by February 2. Not even halfway yet. So wanted to read online for free while I was here.

Far too long for what the story has to offer. And they’re just rabbits. The author could have achieved the same effect attributing human qualities to socks in a hamper. ;)

Meh 2 years ago

It was okay, but since I was forced to read it, I hated it. The movie was hilarious though. I don’t have much of an imagination so I couldn’t imagine bunnies having their own language and hierarchy. I do however, like the message of this story.

I read this a while ago. (Shows how much I visit this site, eh?)

I also read Tales from Watership Down – which was worth the time – and The Plague Dogs (Richard Adams, also) – which definitely was NOT worth the struggle to read.

One of the best books ever 3 years ago

Richard Adams really was an inspired genius, and the more time passes the more I think he’s a terribly underrated writer on many levels. Watership still functions beautifully as a meditation on mythology and culture that isn’t a meta-study of same, and yet provides more insight into how that all comes about more than most academic studies on the matter. Plus, it’s dramatic, imaginative and surprising. What’s not to love?
