post more pictures to flickr

Terrible. I tried to jump in several times, but it was too overwhelming – I didn’t know where to start. Then recently I discovered that an anonymous someone had paid my pro account fees until 2010. I have no idea who, but I’m tickled pink. (If it was someone here, please tell me so I can thank you properly!). That gave me an extra push to update things a bit.

Today I uploaded 800+ pictures (it’s a good thing the rss photo feed here is turned off) and sorted them into new sets and collections. They were mostly from the daily collages I’ve been doing, but I feel like I did enough posting for it to qualify as “more”. Another lingering goal I can now check off!

...and at this point, I was worried that maybe I wouldn’t use the account as much, but I did have lots of holiday photos from Wales at the time, and then people had lots of positive comments, which inspired me to post more and more. It’s all good :)

Flickr is a great place to store my pix & meet other people that have similar interests.
I’ve gotten pretty good at figuring out the site, like geo~mapping where my pix were taken, replying to comments, joining groups and adding to group photos. Recently, I’ve enjoyed learning how to post video shorts, kind of like YouTube only they’re limited to 90 seconds. This picture is one that I scanned and added to a group called “You’re face here”. It’s a group that is devoted to pix of those quirky plywood cutouts painted with funny pictures and only your head shows! The picture was taken in 1969. We posed for another picture where we were in baby diapers too! Ever since then , I can’t resist standing behind these cutouts for the silly pictures!

It seemed like the thing to do while the camera is in the shop. Then I realized I haven’t updated my flickr account since last year. I’ve taken thousands of photos since then, sometimes hundreds in one day, many of them not so hot. I have no idea how to weed through everything and I feel completely overwhelmed.

and I want it to be awesome.

I have so many photos, but I’ve never gotten around to posting them. A bunch are from various trips, some are just random, I’ve plenty of myself, different artistic things… I just want to get them all up there for everyone to see.

Who knows, maybe I’ll become flickr-famous ;)

I’ve been doing this for a while now although for the past month I haven’t posted anything because I haven’t taken any pictures….but overall I post pretty regularly now and I love it. I’ve learned more from seeing other people’s photos and from reading the feedback on my own than I ever did by reading any books or by being in my photo clubs. I HIGHLY recommend Flickr to ANYBODY that loves photography! :)

Well since making this goal I have joined a group for Ventura county on Flickr and uploaded several pictures from different photo shoots I have taken rather than just leave them on my computer like before… I’m still not marking this as done though until I keep it up for a little longer

I have had my Flickr account for years now and I don’t use it nearly often enough..

I met my minimum goalpost of at least 3 sets per month (for the last 8 months) so I’ll mark this as done for now, but will keep regularly adding to the virtual pile.

I’m hoping to have this year updated completely by the time 2008 hits.
