Going on small 2 day holiday 2 months ago

Despite spending all our spare money today – see other ‘things’ on my list, we will just about manage to take a few days out and about, learning the ropes of latest purchase.

Next decision – maybe I should add this to my 43 things list – deciding which of our holiday vehicles we are keeping long term as now have two campers and a touring caravan.

Days here and there 2 months ago

What to do with what’s left of annual holiday entitlement?
Apart from this last full week’s holiday, going to take days here and there in the run up to Christmas.

    This last week:-
    Sunday.
Breakfast at IKEA. Bought pink chest of drawers for younger daughter’s flat.

    Monday.
Took our Volkswagen camper for annual repair and maintenance. Visited older daughter. Out with our friends in the evening.

    Tuesday.
Collected granddaughter from dancing and provided comfort to older daughter whose cat took poorly and passed away the next day.

    Wednesday.
Day outwith younger daughter. Lunch and chat. Bought new hand towels.

    Thursday.
Some tidying. Car valeted. Some time out at Starbucks. Coffee, read books, chat.

    Friday.
Moffat for lunch and a look around. Out with friends in the evening.

    Saturday.
Family for tea, granddaughter stopping for sleepover while her mum and dad went off to a Hallowe’en party.

    Sunday.
    Full circle. Breakfast at IKEA.

That time again 2 months ago

Trouble is the other half has endless holidays still to take as working so hard all the rest of the year. Should we go away for a few days or tidy and clear the clutter we always moan about having. Giving some thought to this. Is there a compromise of some sort?

So glad we had our break but ... 3 months ago

Good holiday. Spent less than expected. Came back with some!
Not exactly as refreshed as on our top left hand corner of Scotland break. Maybe the lack of ‘blow your head off’ wind speed and wide remote open spaces. Had a good time, though looking at Cotswald villages and Lakeland towns.

Came to conclusion – we are quite spoiled with scenery and freedom of Scotland where wild camping is allowed as is taking a boat or kayak down our rivers – pointed out by Gryff Reese Jones on a recent TV programme.

    History repeated 4 months ago

Just heard on the news, this years intended destination is flooded out. Guess I’m going somewhere different. 8)

    Undecided 4 months ago

Still undecided. Might do house up instead. Visit friend in her new house. Something will turn up and decide for us.

Last time we hummed and hawed, the place we’d intended visiting had a flood and if we’d been there, we’d have lost all our possessions. Not that I’m expecting that again, but you never know…

Or staying at home as no money.
