KarenOne day late.

So, it’s Oct. 1st, and I’m a day late. But since I’ve been MIA on here for a while, I want to make an effort and do a Sept recap. I want to focus on my goals more in this month… even though it’s going to be a crazy month. No matter what progress I make I still want to reflect a few times, and do a recap so that I can remember these goals.

G1: Physical Environment: Simplify, declutter, and clean
Wrote a guest post on someone else’s blog on minimalism and totally cleaned out my bathroom area and got rid of a lot. It feels so good to be clutter free, and clean and simplified… this has really become a more important goal. Plus, I’m moving in 3 weeks so I am forced to clean as I pack, very soon…

G2: Spiritual: Positivity, Nonjudgment (for myself and others). Be fearless. Be authentic.
I’m feeling awesome this week. New job is really helping, and being around positive people makes me encouraged to put an effort into being that way.

G3: Knowledge: Never stop learning.
Learned an incredible amount this week from new job training. I think I can feel my brain growing.

G4: Health/Wellness: Be fit, exercise daily, drink lots of water, be healthy and well nourished.
Ugh. Need to focus on this next… really want to be that fit, skinnier version of myself that’s in there somewhere.

G5: Abundance: Make money online, and independently. Endless abundance is available to me right now.
Got new temp job, so focusing on making more money for someone else first. Met a good contact with someone that is successfully making money online… need to nurture that relationship.

G6: Productivity: Wake up early.
It’s amazing how being forced to do this made it happen. Working 8-5 now and waking up before 7am every day this week. It’s a small miracle.

G7: Inspiration/Creativity: Be continuously inspired. Cultivate creativity.
Really inspired lately… my blog is central to this.

G8: Hobbies: Practice photography. Write. Discover new music.Too busy with other things at the moment… it’s alright.

G9: Mentors & Teachers: Identify and study. Find people that are already successful in the ways I want to be. Learning a ton from the new people I work with, as well as new people I’ve discovered online recently.

Yay! I’m happy. On to October. It’s bringing wonderful things… :) 3 years ago

I’m really glad that I was invited to this, because I focused on it and did a lot of good stuff this month, and got through hard and good times.

September really was a best month ever. 3 years ago

LisaWeek of September 27-October 3:

I realize that some of my expectations of myself are of a person who has a lot more energy than I sometimes do. This past week, I was really, really tired, and a bit blue, and I just needed to sit with it. And on the other hand, I observed my tendency to procrastinate and my desire to sit and do nothing. It was a very contemplative week, and I’d like to work this on gently breaking myself out of this tendency and quietly move a little bit in the other direction. I also feel a bit lonely as I write this, for friendship, connection and community. I would like to have this week be more connected and less solitary than last week was.

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistNo studying again. I have 23 days to attain my goal of taking the boards on October 20. I realize, too, it’s not a big deal if I don’t make it. It’s more important to get there with plenty of funds and study time.
Study for 1-2 hours on days off. Daily pursue opportunities for additional income on ETC. jobs. Investigate the NCCAOM tests.Investigate Tymes book. Maybe I have it. If not, buy it from Long (next week).

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)Lots and lots of walking and qi gong 1x. I realize that I don’t have to do the whole 40 minute qi gong dvd, and 15 minutes is enough. It’s just important that I do it.
Qi gong every day.

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).I saw a friend who’s an OT and she gave me some stretching suggestions, and 5htp has helped my should pain unexpectedly.
Eat healthy meals and take my supplements. Make appointment with dentist.Orthopedic doctor appt.

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.Nothing this week
Do some fengshuiing in the helpful people/travel section.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note. This was okay, and there was little drama anywhere, and I spent a fair amount of time alone.
Send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself). Stay close to consistently positive people. Know that I’m a gift and that other people are gifts as well.

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.Slow money week.
Keep up with Wesabe. Do one two feng shui things in the prosperity corner.Update resume.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.50%! Still working on sitting down before I’m done.
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.Tapping. Two meetings.
Practice EFT. Ask people to pray for me and my family relationships. 2-3 meetings. Send therapist a note.Ask A. about EMDR therapist who works on a sliding scale.

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.Still fine with it. Kind of introverted this past week.
Put some money in the new bed fund (feng shui). Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. EFT.

10. Be on time for work. Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time.Another good week!
Keep up with this.

Do the tough stuff first

SlayneBStrong

I’ve stayed strong through Sept., only having one meltdown (privately) for the math at school, then picked myself up and kept going. That was worth it. So that makes it a very good month.

I’m glad I was invited to this team. 3 years ago

LisaWeek of September 20-26:

I wish I could hang out with all of you.:) Okay, here is my assessment of last week, and my goals for this week. I realize, too, that my ‘perfect’ week includes a daily dose of tapping, stretching (qi gong), and FLYing. I’ll try to attain this ‘perfection’ this week.:)

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistNo studying again this week, and still having issues with low fundage. Idea: may try to take public transportation to work, because this is where I found my best study time.
Study for 1-2 hours on days off. Daily pursue opportunities for additional income on ETC. jobs.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)Lots and lots of walking and qi gong 1x.

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).Saw Rudy and a massage therapist for my shoulder. I have an appointment with an orthopedist on the 29th.
Eat healthy meals and take my supplements. Make appointment with dentist.

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.Nothing this week
Do some fengshuiing in the helpful people/travel section.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note. Was pretty good this week.Trying this, and found myself defending someone who other people were tearing apart because I wanted to keep a discussion about principles rather than personalities.
Send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself). Stay close to consistently positive people. Know that I’m a gift and that other people are gifts as well.

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan. Not much progress this week. Kept up with my bills.
Keep up with Wesabe. Do one or two feng shui things in the prosperity corner. Update resume.Gather info for loan consolidation.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.Did pretty well in the beginning of the week, then started to get tired.
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.EFT session was great. Taking a break from it due to finances. Continuing to tap. Two meetings.
Practice EFT. Ask people to pray for me and my family relationships. 2-3 meetings.

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.Felt strangely fine this week about being unattached. I wonder if it was the EFT session I had last week.
Put some money in the new bed fund (feng shui). Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. EFT.

10. Be on time for work. Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time.Another good week!
Keep up with this.

secondmercedesMy Plan to Make September The Best Month Ever!

My plan is simple. Find joy in each day and a reason to keep going every day. I suppose I’ve done that thus far in the month of September. It’s only been 4 days.

Today, I have the Blanton Museum of Art B Scene Museum party to look forward to. I will eat, drink a blantini, and dance like the fun lil maniac that I am.

Tomorrow, I have a 10.5 mile run to look forward to. I will follow that run up with a trip to the veloway where I will take my wonderful road bike for a few glorious loops around the car free zone.

Sunday, I have an amazing yoga class with Zoe to look forward to. Then, I may head over to try a hula class at the Ballet studio. After that, it’s time for grilling with friends. I hope to make a margarita for the first time in my “new to me” margarita glasses!

Monday, I have a triathlon. It will be my second Olympic distance triathlon. I’m so ready I can taste it. I will enjoy a beer afterward and probably have an ice cream sandwich. Then I will head again to a wonderful batch of yoga classes because Labor Day in Austin means free day of yoga at every studio! It’s quite wonderful.

Tuesday I have lunch with Rebecca to look forward to. We’re going to my favorite veggie heaven haunt just down the street – Bouldin Creek. I’m opting for the veggie burger which is my absolute favorite treat. Tuesday night I’ll walk my dog to the gelato place and get my favorite gelato there – Mediterranean Sea Salt all by myself. It will feel good to do something for just me. [secret note to self: you only get the gelato if you place in the top 10 in your age group in the triathlon]

Wednesday I have a long bike ride with the Austin Flyers planned. It is so much fun to go out with girls only. I really enjoy it. Hopefully I can convince my friend Jennifer or Rebecca to come. We’ll probably go close to 30 miles. Then dinner with the special afterward.

Thursday I have a tempo run and a surprise date that I am planning for my special. She won’t be aware of it (or maybe I’ll hint) until later in the week).

Friday I am off of work and organizing the United Way Day of Caring. Me and a few of my coworkers will be beautifying a garden/museum and helping people with disabilities create a mural. It is going to be a fun day. Hopefully, we will get Jimmy John’s [a guilty favorite sub shop of mine] for lunch! Friday night I just might treat myself to a drink at the Paggi House to celebrate the end of the madness that is Day of Caring planning and organizing.

Then Saturday, I’ll run a 25K and then we will be whisked off somewhere wonderful for a few days where I won’t have to worry about a thing except what I’m going to eat next.

Saturday through Wednesday will be worry free and quite taken care of. I will broach the rest of September soon. 3 years ago
