Since our vacation is in the California Gold country this year, it is a natural to also want to pan for gold. I’ve panned for gold before in one of those “pay to pan” where the sprinkle a little gold dust in, but this is the first time I’ll do it in the wild. With gold at $850 an once, there is always the chance of winning the lottery. In any case, I’m looking forward to trying it. I already bought the pans at Big 5 Sporting goods.

It was a hoot, after touring a copper and Gold mine, we sat along the creek and panned for Gold for two or three hours. Found some dust.

It’s a lot of work panning for gold… It’s a lot less work making money at my job :-)
