I protested the West Boro Baptist Church protest.
It was something I was passionately against so I enjoyed it a lot.
It gave me a great adrenaline rush! I would love to do it again.
Making posters is also a great thing to do. :-)

I’m very opinionated. Had a lot of opportunities to participate in protests but they’ve been too far and since I can’t drive, couldn’t go! So I’m going to organize some myself :P
Along with 435 other students from my school, I walked out of class on Wednesday and stood on the side of the road with signs and chanted and marched to our district offices in support of our teachers and treating them with the respect our district just can’t seem to wrap their head around.

Protested in front of thousands of people at the St Patrick’s parade in London. Police and organisers tried to stop us and failed. Now I need to do more.

Relating to this goal, I am going to The Anarchist Bookfair tomorrow, Sat. 27, at St. Mary’s University in east London. I am not an anarchist but I think there will be a lot of interesting information here.
- The 27th Anarchist Bookfair – this is the largest and most important regular gathering of Anarchists in the world. It reflects the full range of Anarchist groups, publishers and activity.

I still haven’t done anything about contacting companies on the Dirty List to ask them to cut their ties with Burma’s military government. Need to get moving on this. I will stick them on a spreadsheet to get started.
Lonely Planet is an Australian multinational publishing company specialising in travel guides. Lonely Planet publishes a guide to Burma which encourages tourists to visit the country. Lonely Planet also vigorously defends tourism to Burma, attempting to undermine calls by Aung San Suu Kyi and Burma’s democracy movement for tourists to stay away.
Aung San Suu Kyi and the Burmese democracy movement have asked tourists not to visit Burma because it helps fund the regime and gives it legitimacy. Forced and child labour was used to develop many tourist facilities.
Please contact Lonely Planet and ask them to cut their ties with Burma’s military government.

Burma is a country ruled by one of the longest running and most brutal military dictatorships in the world; a dictatorship charged by the United Nations with a “crime against humanity” for its systematic abuses of human rights, and condemned internationally for refusing to transfer power to the legally elected Government of the country – the party led by Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.
In response to calls from Burma’s democracy movement, the Burma Campaign UK and other campaign groups around the world have been pressuring companies to sever business ties with Burma.

Please contact one or more of the companies on the Dirty List and ask them to cut their ties with Burma’s military government. If appropriate, tell them you will not purchase their products as long as they continue to support the regime in Burma.
Letters written in your own words are most effective. If you don’t have much time, don’t worry – just one or two paragraphs will do. Please be polite!
The Burma Campaign UK and other campaign groups would be grateful if you could send them a copy of any responses you receive.
