Use solar power

I will always endeavour to use solar power wherever possible. At the moment I am using it to keep the battery topped up in my car – there is a solar panel in the back window which links directly to the battery.

to heat our water. the system was installed in the beginning of may. our consumption of gas, which is now solely used in the kitchen for cooking, is down 80%!
we are thrilled!

Off camping soon so I might treat myself to some solar powered gadget. But then buying something like this might mean it will rain the entire time. Hmmmm….

I have seen a photo of solar roof-tile panels. They look like normal dark slate tiles but can supply a house with all of it’s electrical needs. I want!!!

There are a lot of good products on the market, and a lot of new technologies being invented. I found the best way to set up solar, was to start small and just start experimenting. We all use solar power all the time. Plants absorb it directly, we/animals eat the plants to get the energy, we eat the animals (if not vegetarian) to get the energy 2nd hand. It’s a free resource – clean and efficient – so it makes sense to use it as much as possible.
