about these numbers… I’m going to put it down… 25 loss from where I started is 129. I bet it’s a perfect weight for my frame and muscle. I’ll know specifically once I get there tho …..

18 lbs total 3 months ago

I’m down 18 lbs since I started this goal. I’ve been stuck for a month. Probably going back to Spark People and tracking my food will be beneficial. Studies show that people who track food lose more weight! I’ve got 7 lbs to go to reach the 25 lbs goal where I said I would reassess if I need to lose anymore.

I have a sense that at that point I will start making some strength and endurance related goals along with taking measurements.

Only 16 more lbs to go to reach this goal! I can do it! I’m doing a two week personal challenge… (for 5 lbs but really, I’m only aiming for a healthy 4 lbs- 2 a week….). This process has been so slow and it’s teaching me to be patient… really patient!! I started this in January… it’s April!! I was hoping to have lost it all by now but that’s OK! At least I’m still on the right track and on my way to a fitter me : )

Flutterbyflyby3 recommended this wonderful website to me. The people who started this website apparently made a killing in the early days of ebay and created this website as their way of giving back to the world. It is a free service and so far it’s been very life changing for me : ) I like the nutrition tracker! It’s the easiest way I’ve found to do this so far!! I’m going to break my 25lb goal into two parts…. I’m going to make my first goal to lose 15 lbs. I weighed in on Wednesday…. so only once a week. I’ll report back in a couple of days.

So far it’s really kept me in check. I knew I was going to my friend’s house for dinner last night so before I even left yesterday morning, I put in flourless chocolate cakes so I could see how it would effect every part of my nutrition… (I’m gluten intolerant and I will never ever pass up a dessert if it is actually one I can HAVE!!! lol) Once I saw this, I was able to adjust the rest of my meals around this. I ate lower calorie, but still nutritious, food during the day! It worked out beautifully. Before I probably wouldn’t have changed anything about my daily eating…. this gets you thinking.

I think the website is a little confusing at first but only because there is soooooo much to do there. They offer so many services!
So off to the first goal 15 lbs!

    For charity 12 months ago

25 lbs may be way too much. It puts me into a “healthy” range according to the governmental standards but frankly, I think it may be too much! So I’ll make this goal “lose up to 25lbs’ and I’ll reevaluate it.

NOW. I will not do any fad diets. I will not eliminate entire food groups. I will not skip meals. We are bombarded in the media with quick fixes that lead to disordered eating and malnutrition. I am such a healthy eater (obviously a little too healthy!) mostly organic, all natural, non-processed for the most part. I’m gluten intolerant so it helps make me that way : )

So…. I am thinking about doing a program like Weight Watchers that promotes healthy eating- all food groups are OK!

I’m going to need to amp up my exercise and be more diligent about it. Goalgeek’s website provides an AWESOME tool for tracking this.

I’d like to lose weight for charity. For every lb lost sponsors donate x amount up to 25lbs…. So I’ll need an end date. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. I think 16 weeks is reasonable. So this puts me at the beginning of May.

    What I need to do:

    1) Establish parameters: Lose 25lbs by May 7th 2009. (This will be modified towards the end if 25 if it is too much. I don’t want to look gaunt… I want to keep my curves : ) I love my curves! Sexy!
    2) Meal plan: Weight watchers is likely. The point system is easy and I’ve seen many people successful this way. Eating healthy and not eliminating entire food groups is my goal!
    3) Baseline Weight: I will have to get my scale back. I gave it to my neighbor while I was recovering from my injuries and I couldn’t exercise. It made me a little nutty.
    4) Exercise Plan: Use this goal tracker to do it!!
    5) Weekly weigh in indicating lbs lost (No, I’m not posting how much I weigh!! : )
