    So 2 years ago

I feel I have a pretty darn good start. All my itunes stuff is now hard-copied. . . I just have to keep up with it from now on.

Musical Order Achieved 2 years ago

That’s it! I’m done! All CDs are now in cases and stowed away.
(2 CDProjects cases, 1 Targus case, and 2 Slappa cases)

Here’s the recap … all CDs have been:

    -Ripped
    -Cover art-ed (cool verb huh?)
    -Backed up
-& Cased (links to this post)

Sha-weet. Some how that leaves me feeling a bit anal. Better go throw some clothes on the floor, leave the dishes undone, and fling all the covers about the bedroom in celebration.

    So, 2 years ago

I’ve figured it up, and when I’m done burning all my music that I have at this very moment I’ll have 80 CDs. I’ve done 48, so I need to get another spool, I’m thinking I’ll get 4 more packages of sleeves, and a trapper-keeper to keep them in.

Slappa Cases Arrived 2 years ago

The Hype is deserved. For not much more dollar wise the Slappa brand cases are pretty amazing. I ordered two 240s to get the rest of our CDs organized and make me jewel case free.

They arrived finally today and I’ve filled one of them about 70% full. Will be working to file the rest of the discs away tomorrow/Fri.

I shot quite a few pictures and added comments to my Flikr site. You can browse this set of photos and get a really good feel for what the cases are like.

Safe to say, I will not be looking for CaseLogic or CDProjects cases again. Slappa cases are a cut above.

Started This One 2 years ago

I have 25/70 albums from my itunes library burned. That isn’t counting the mixes.

I need to get more sleeves, and a binder to hold them in. Maybe I’ll do that today on the way home…

I am smitten 2 years ago

Ok. I really liked CDProjects/Targus cases … but Slappa cases … ohhh … I think I’m in wuv!

Ordered! I’ll take some photos and give you my impressions when they arrive. Plenty of good reviews for their stuff out there in the inter-web-net ether.

141 CDs to file 2 years ago

Not bad. Going to order some cases online since I can’t find any in of the brand I like in stock/reatil. Dissapointing.

Supposedly Circuit City and Best Buy should carry Targus/CDProjects brand cases but alas … none there in stock … just gobs of CaseLogic. CaseLogic is ok (owned a few of their binders) but if I had my choice I’d throw down for CDProjects.

    E-commerce here I come.

Time To Count 2 years ago

Have to count all the jewel cases I’ve got and see how many (or what type) of binders I’ll need for this. I’m pretty happy with having all my music on iTunes, with cover art, and backed up!

This is the last step in gaining uber-muscial order. After this it will be maintain.

organization is king! 3 years ago

I’ve always kept my music in alpha order - gotta do it when you have a large collection if you ever want to find anything. Of course, there’s always a small pile waiting to go back into the system. I also had sub groupings…. sort of like the music store - separate section for soundtracks, classical, jazz, world music etc. That’s helpful if you’re in the mood for a specific type of music and don’t want to hunt through everything.

These day’s I’m working at downloading everything onto my laptop and onto my IPOD—I have about 7500 songs done and I haven’t even scratched the surface of my collection.

    Finally! 3 years ago

I got motivated and put all my cd’s in alpha order in a cd case…with the liner sheets and ditched the jewel cases. Finally!!

However I should’ve first took out all the ones I wanted to get rid of….lol…I was over zealous and just did them all…so now I feel a RE-DO coming on….Kicking myself I have to pull the ones I don’t give a damn about…assemble them back in the jewel cases and then either sell them in an upcoming yard sale, take to a used CD store….or incorporate them into some altered art project lol. Yikes. I’m a dumbass for not doing this up front!
