buy a house/apartment

Wasn’t so hard. Looked for a month.
Found one place that would’ve need $100K of repairs (it’s very easy to let go in that kind of situation).
In the end, my stepfather found the place. Beautiful little cottage.
Averted getting gazumped by exchanging without formal approval on the loan, but that came through a few hours later anyway… thank god!
All in all we had strong support from both our families, which made a big difference. As did looking in December / January, so there weren’t too many other buyers around.

To buy a house would be awesome. To design and build my own house would be even better. I’ve loved designing houses/rooms since I was able to draw; trying to figure out what style house suits me best. I still have found the best but I’m getting there. My parents finish the mortage for their house next year in August. A certificate saying that their house is now theirs. Fantastic. Now to follow in my parents footsteps.
