I’ve enrolled in a practical piano course last May 1st. The course has 12 1-hr sessions, and I’ve chosen Saturdays for my schedule. I’ve been attending ever since. ^^
I took piano lessons when I was in the third grade, and again in college. Now that I will (hopefully) have the time, I would like to learn again
so i took piano lessons a few years ago and i remember i really enjoyed the playing part but i quit anyways. not really sure why… anyways now i want to get back into cause i love just playing around on the piano and i want to get good so i can play all those beautiful songs i love.
Karrieon is ready to start living!
I took piano lessons for about 8-9 years when I was a kid. But like most kids, I didn’t take it seriously. I didn’t practice enough and I didn’t care about it—it was more like a chore. So now that I am a grown up I would like to learn again. I’m sure I don’t need to start over, but I’d like to re-train my brain to appreciate learning to read music. I am also interested in learning via the Suzuki Method (learning by ear) but I am not sure if that is the best option when you already know how to read music.
First things first: I need to get a piano. My grandma has offered to give me hers, which is fabulous. However, I am going to have to spend some money getting it hauled out of her house, 75 miles to my house, lifted up my stairs and then tuned. I am holding out on this goal until fall. That will give me time to get everything settled.
m_cruz2007 Husband is deploying between Feb 4th-8th! =[
Just like with the guitar lessons, I want to take piano lessons since I already sing! I think I’d like to learn the piano first!

Unfortunately I lost a potential piano’s teacher phone number. Oh well I will search for a different one lol.
zeplin912 It's party time:)
One of my friends plays so beautifully, it really inspired me.
I think I want to learn how to read the music and play classical stuff; however, my main joy will be recreating modern songs that are so pretty.
I’m taking them through the college this semester…but in order to take them, I had to declare myself a music major and sign up for music theory and sight-singing/ear-training.
It’s all interesting, but also time-consuming and stressful. I also have a lot of other interests, and don’t appreciate it when the teachers get all preachy and “focus on this and ONLY this, nothing else in your life matters BUT this” on me. Ack.
So yeah, I enjoy learning about it and really wouldn’t mind getting some sort of degree in music. One day I might be a little old lady with blue hair and fifty cats, giving little kids piano lessons out of my apartment. BUT, I don’t think it’s my absolute calling in life, and I’m not quite sure where to go from here.
I figure I’ll finish off this semester and see how things go before making any serious decisions. Maybe I should petition the school to set up a program of music/piano lessons for non-majors?
