On September 20, Wish Bibliomane a Year of Librarianation, Glorius Breakfasts, and Dogs, Dogs, Dogs!!!!

I hope your year is loverly librarianish! These dogs are very smart. They can sing happy birthday in seven languages!

I was watching tv at the gym while running on the treadmill yesterday and a commercial for the new Denny’s grand slam breakfast came on. I commented how great the tall dish of fresh fruit looked and imagined how glorious it would be to eat that. (I’ve got fresh picked blueberries in the fridge as I type this.) If I were to fix a glorious breakfast for Bibliomane though it would be an asparagus omelet. I’d start with three eggs, beaten with a dash of milk and a splash of garlic powder. I’d spritz the pan with some extra virgin olive oil just so that the egg doesn’t stick. I’d pour the egg mixture in and cover it so that it begins to cook. Once it’s partially cooked, I’d add slices of colby jack cheese to the still molten egg and allow it to melt. I’d lay asparagus spears across that and recover it until the egg is fully cooked and the cheese melted. Then I’d flip the one side of the egg over, and slide the omelet off onto a plate. If Bibliomane wanted, I’d have also made some shaved hash browns and toast. Now that would be a glorious breakfast. Here’s my wishes for Bib for the coming year:

May she put the time and effort into achieving a healthy weight and fitness level so that she can go hiking in Scotland with ease. May she embrace her inner fan girl whenever she’s feeling depressed or anxious. And may she remember that it is all temporary, especially when the students are showing their immaturity.
